Kapayapaan, Aming Dasal!

Change is indeed inevitable. It takes a good courage to let go of the familiar and embrace a new one. In this 16th of September, our community here in Montalban celebrated again another night of celebrating and reminiscing the spirit of our founder, St. Luigi Orione.
With our thankful hearts, we started the night with a solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist as one community with Fr. Anthony, Fr. Stan and Fr. Justin. There were religious brothers, novices and seminarians wearing different dress codes who occupied the seats in the chapel- hearing nice insights of Fr. Anthony about the chosen theme for this month. “Tayo ang pagbabago, tayo ang kapayapaan”. And he noticed that there were shifts in his homily prepared in due time after he saw the theme projected in the LED screen. Fr. Anthony said that it is nice to reflect if, “Ako ang pagbabago, ako ang kapayapaan”. The peace and change must be something subjected. Fr. Stan after the homily, blessed the sacred vessels for the liturgical use. Our gratitude to Fr. Oreste, our Superior Delegate for this nice gift for the community. In the latter part, the mass maintained its solemnity and through emulating the life of Don Orione, we ended up reaffirming ourselves as true sons of Divine Providence by receiving the blessings from the hands of the three priests in the mass.

The celebration will not be complete if there are no receptions. After the mass, the community flocked themselves in the seminary refectory to share stories and foods. Ironically, because of not a so fair weather, the cultural night held in the session hall gave us hope and became productive- even if there were lack of preparation beause of some academic commitments. We witnessed variety of tableau presentations, from the Sophomores and Juniors. They have serenaded the crowd with such legacy of the New President of the Philippines Rodrigo Roa Duterte about drugs and other pertinent vices.

Lastly, as we empower lives we commit to enhance change in such a way that we first change our own defects.  Let us pray to St. Luigi Orione to help us in actualizing what we are desiring for.
