A beautiful and comforting visit.
That is all that one can say of it. The community of the Sons of Divine
Providence of Montalban, composed of the Saint Luigi Orione Seminary, the Novitiate
and the Cottolengo has got the joy of a heart-warming fraternal visit of Rev.
Father Noeh Elnar, newly appointed Parish Priest of the Saint Raphael Archangel
Parish of Montalban, Rizal.
Upon invitation of the Superior
of the Community, Rev. Father Anthony Eucinei De Souza, Father Noeh accepted to
come and celebrate with us the Holy Eucharist this Wednesday, March 15, 2017,
6am. The Mass was held in the Chapel of the Seminary, concelebrated by Fr.
Anthony Eucinei, FDP, Novice Master and Superior, Fr. Stefan Bulai, FDP,
Director of the Cottolengo and Fr. Stan, FDP, In charge of Seminary. Fr. Justin
Bamouni, FDP was absent for schedule in the sisters of St. Anne’s community.
The whole Community welcomed with great joy Father Noeh.
In his homily, the Parish Priest
of St. Raphael expressed his gratitude and heartfelt joy for the great hand
that we, Sons of Divine Providence give to the Parish. And thanked in a very
special way, first the Priest for their help every Sunday for the Masses and
the celebrations of Sacraments and sacramentals (funerals, blessings…). He also
acknowledged the great apostolate work of the Religious Brothers, the
Seminarians and the Novices in the Parish which helps many people to get back
to the Church and become more closer. He expressed that being newly appointed
here in San Rafael, he would not be able to serve efficiently and work easily
without the support of the FDP Community.
Based on today’s readings, Wednesday
of the second week of Lent, Fr. Noeh encouraged each one of us, and mostly the
seminarians to accept our daily sufferings and humiliations or betrayals as our
contribution to the Cross of Christ. As Jeremiah was wrongly accused and
rejected, so will we sometimes be. But this gives to know that we are truly
Christ’s disciples.
Answering to the words of
gratitude of Father Noeh, the Superior of the Community, Fr. Anthony, on the
behalf of all, has expressed our gratefulness and joy to collaborate in the
pastoral of the Parish. He also linked that collaboration to our four vow of
Special Fidelity to the Pope, which in a very concrete and practical way is
expressed in respect and obedience to the Ordinary Bishop, sincere collaboration
with the Diocesan Clergy and partnership with the Parish priest in the
territory where we are.
After the Mass, we had the
breakfast with our honorable guest in the refectory of the Seminary, followed
by a visit to the boys of the Cottolengo.
We wish fruitful ministry to
Father Noeh here in San Rafael and assure him of our humble prayers and
collaboration. Ave Maria and onward with Saint Luigi Orione.
