Don Orione Philippines: Diaconal Ordination in Montalban

Brother Ramon P. Rosin, FDP has been ordained, "not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many ... As a minister of the Word, of the altar, and of charity."
“If God calls you for a ministry, do not seek for it to be a job.” A simple word deep of sense which can summarize what we feasted on last October 21, 2017, at the Saint Luigi Orione Seminary, in Montalban, Philippines.
It was a colorful, and one could say, successful even, the Ordination of Bro. Ramon Padilla Rosin, FDP, to the Sacred Order of the Diaconate.
After almost five years, the Congregation of the Little Work of Divine Providence witnesses a new ordination in the Philippines. By the laying of hands and the consecration prayer of the Most Rev. Francisco De Leon, DD, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Antipolo, Bro. Ramon, now Rev. Ramon Rosin, FDP has joined the order of Deacons.
Have witnessed this event, the Vicar General of the Congregation and Delegate Superior of the Missionary Delegation, “Mother of the Church”, Rev. Father Oreste Ferrari, FDP. With him were the Coordinator of the Orionine Mission in the Philippines, Rev.  Father Anthony Eucinei de Souza, FDP, the confreres from Montalban, Payatas and Lucena, the parents, relatives and friends of Rev. Ramon, led by his father, the Little Missionary Sisters of Charity, and the Sacramentines Sisters, the Sisters of Charity of St. Anne (Del Pilar Sisters), the faithful from San Rafael Parish, led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Noeh E. Elnar, Rev. Fr. Franco from Legazpi, the faithful from Mother of Divine Providence Parish, Payatas, the faithful from Lucena and many other acquaintances of Rev. Ramon and of the Seminary. More than a family feast, it was a beautiful show of the Orionine presence here in Montalban.
In his thanksgiving message, Rev. Ramon expressed how gracious the Lord has been to him. He hence, looking at the length of his cursus, exclaimed, “for God there will never be too early and too late…” The most important is to make oneself reachable to God and to do it now.
The Holy Eucharist for this event started at 9am in the Chapel of the Seminary well decorated for the feast by seminarians and friends of Don Orione. After the mass and the pictorial session, all were invited for a feast day lunch.
Rev. Ramon P. Rosin, FDP, from San Roche Parish, Diocese of Legazpi, is, as one would say, the now second Filipino Son of Divine Providence, after Fr. John Castillo, FDP, Parish Priest of Mother of Divine Providence Parish, now studying in Rome. The birth giving journey of Vocations to the FDP seems taking long, but we are hopeful, with this new ordination, that many other young men will follow and share the Charism of Don Orione in these beautiful Christian and Catholic Islands.
