Together
with the Roman Catholic Church who celebrated the infallible dogma last August
15, the Blessed Virgin Mary’s “assumptio”- a taking- into heaven, our community here in Montalban dedicated a
fitting tribute to Mary, Mother of God on the feast of her glorious Assumption.
All
of us were thinking of an anticipated bad weather knowing that the televisions
and news were signifying the landfall of the typhoon. In much the same way, our
Plan-B or the other alternative were planned and prepared well in case of the
rainy afternoon. We’ve noticed that there was really a hope after all;
realizing that the Blessed Virgin Mary keeps on interceding for us. Fr. Stan
was saying that in every miracle happens, it is a clarion call for
thanksgiving. Since, the weather was fine, Fr. Stan and Fr. Stefan -the
organizers of the Feast- led the fluvial procession going to a long route in
our small community. We brought the Blessed Lady in the roads of ELAR going to
the crossing of MILEX back to the Assumption Chapel. Along the cavalcade, we
celebrated Her feast by serenading Marian songs and reciting the rosary while
walking in a rugged pavement because of the rain before the event.
In
the Eucharistic Celebration, Fr. Anthony, the Superior of the Community, our
Vicar Fr. Stefan, our Seminary Rector Fr. Stan, the newly-ordained Fr. Justin
who will take the responsibility as the in-charge of the professed brothers and
Fr. Verge, the Parish Priest of St. Raphael de Archangel Parish joined the
universal church in honoring Mary, our Mother. The chapel were fully loaded
with so many visitors and guests, including seminarians in their white robes
and our professed brothers in their Roman Clericals.
After
the prayerful celebration, the event continued in Cottolengo Filipino, our orphanage
whom we are assisting the needs of the gifted children- both physical and
spiritual. The culmination continued with lots of presentation and cultural
shows.
In
the end, we sing gloriously to Mary who is capable of making us rejoice today.
Our love for her will always be filial. Mary, our heavenly foundress, intercede
for us always!
